If You’re Over 50, You’ve Probably Noticed...

Your body doesn’t bounce back like it used to.

The weight doesn’t come off as easily, even when you’re “eating healthy.”

Your joints ache after workouts that used to feel fine.

You’re exhausted by 2 PM, even though you exercise regularly.

And the trainers you've tried? They don't get it. They push the same “no pain, no gain” mentality that worked when you were 25, but now leaves you sore, injured, or frustrated.

Here’s the truth:

You don’t need to work harder. You need to work smarter. And you need a trainer who understands what your body actually needs at this stage of life.

That's where I come in.

Why Work With a 62-Year-Old Trainer?

I’m Craig McBreen. I’m 62 years old. I'm a NASM-certified personal trainer based in Fort Collins.

But more importantly? I've lived what you’re going through.

In my 40s, I was nearly 240 pounds, chained to an office chair, running my marketing company. Chronic back pain. Endless cardio that led nowhere. I went from fat to “skinny-fat” and felt worse than ever.

At 59, I got certified as a trainer because I was tired of 25-year-old coaches who'd never felt joint pain telling people my age to “just push through it.”

Now, at 62, I'm stronger and leaner than I was at 32.

Not because I found some magic protocol. Because I figured out what actually works for bodies over 50.

Here’s the System We Will Use:

Strength Training, Not Cardio Obsession

Build the muscle that protects your joints, stabilizes your spine, and keeps your metabolism high. Cardio alone burns muscle—we’re building your armor.

Joint-Friendly Progressive Overload

Get stronger without wrecking your body. Proper form, controlled movements, and smart programming that respects your limitations while pushing your potential.

Protein-First Meals that Build Muscle

No starvation diets. No restrictive meal plans. Just a simple framework: prioritize protein at every meal to fuel the muscle you’re building.

Sustainable Habits, Not Quick Fixes

This isn't a 12-week transformation challenge. It's a system you can follow for the next 20+ years to stay strong, independent, and pain-free.

Is This Right for You?

This training is for you if:

✅ You want to build (or rebuild) strength without destroying your joints.

✅ You’re done with fad diets and fitness gimmicks.

✅ You want a trainer who’s actually been where you are. Not someone half your age.

✅ You’re in Fort Collins and want to get stronger and feel better.

This is NOT for you if:

❌ You’re looking for a 6-week shred or quick fix.

❌ You won’t commit to showing up 2-3 times per week.

❌ You just want someone to count reps (I’m a coach, not a cheerleader).

❌ You’re not ready to prioritize your health.

Steve Goldstein

I had the privilege of working with Craig for 6 months, and the experience was truly impactful. During that time, I lost weight, gained muscle, learned a great deal about my health, and shifted my mindset around fitness and well-being.

I highly recommend Craig and Fifty Plus Fitness, especially if you haven’t been in a gym for a long time, feel unsure where to begin, or want a trainer who truly sees you as an individual rather than a program.

Cole Harvey

I am very happy to recommend Craig for his expertise and personalized fitness coaching he has provided to me.

Craig spent a good deal of time gathering information about my physical history, surgeries, nutrition, and prior surgeries to design a program to meet my needs.

I would highly recommend Craig to anyone looking to Improve their overall health and well-being. Craig creates a very safe and encouraging experience.

FAQs

Common Questions About the FiftyPlus Fitness Online Program

  • I’ve never lifted weights before. Can I do this?

Absolutely. Most of my clients haven't touched a weight in years (or ever). We start where you are and build from there.

  • What if I have joint pain or injuries?

That’s exactly why I built this program. We work around your limitations, not through them. Proper form and controlled movements protect your joints, not destroy them

  • How often do I need to train?

2-3 sessions per week, 60 minutes each. That’s enough to see real results without overtraining.

  • Do you offer online/virtual training?

Yes. If you're not in Fort Collins, I offer online coaching.

  • What makes you different from other trainers in Fort Collins?

I’m 62. I specialize in training people over 50. I’ve lived the struggle, figured out what works, and I’m not going to push you into injury with “no pain, no gain” nonsense.

Most trainers are half your age and have never felt what you're feeling. I have.

That said, I also work with people in their 40s who are smart enough to realize they don't want to wait until 55 to start building strength.

If you’re in your 40s and want to train with someone who understands how bodies age (and how to prevent the slide before it starts), you're welcome here.

But my focus is 50+. That's my lane. That's where my experience and expertise live.

  • How much does personal training cost?

We’ll discuss pricing during your free consultation. Investment varies based on frequency and goals, but I work with clients who are serious about long-term results, not quick fixes.
