I’ve Been Exactly Where You Are.

I'm Craig McBreen. 62 years old. NASM-certified strength coach based in Fort Collins, Colorado. I work with men and women over 50 who are done guessing and ready to build something that lasts.

The Long Way Around.

In my 40s, I was nearly 240 pounds. Running a marketing company from a desk chair. Chronic back pain that never went away.

I tried everything. Endless cardio, restrictive diets, programs built for guys half my age. I went from overweight to skinny-fat and felt worse than ever.

The cardio wasn't working. The diets weren't sticking. And every trainer I found pushed the same no pain, no gain nonsense that left me sore, frustrated, and no closer to feeling like myself.

At 55 I finally stopped guessing and started building.

I committed to strength training. I dialed in my protein. I stopped treating recovery as an afterthought. Everything changed. The weight came off and stayed off. The back pain disappeared. My energy came back in a way that cardio never gave me.

At 62 I'm stronger and leaner than I was at 32. Not because I found a magic protocol. Because I finally figured out what actually works for a body over 50.

At 59 I got certified as a personal trainer because I was done watching men my age get handed programs built for someone half their age.

I built this system for myself first. Then I built it for people like you.

Why Choose FiftyPlus Fitness?

This Business Exists for One Reason.

I spent 30 years in marketing watching people build brands around things they didn't believe in. I wasn't going to do that.

FiftyPlus Fitness exists because I know what it feels like to be 50-something, overworked, undertrained, and quietly wondering if it's too late. It's not. But you need the right system, not more willpower.

I'm not a cheerleader. I'm a coach. My job isn't to motivate you. It's to build a program that works even when motivation runs out. A system you can follow during a stressful week, a work trip, a long day. Something that compounds quietly in the background while you live your life.

The session is 1% of your week. I help you own the other 99%.

What I Actually Believe.

Strength training is non-negotiable after 50. Not cardio. Not flexibility classes. Strength. It's the one thing that reverses muscle loss, protects your joints, fires up your metabolism, and keeps you capable for decades. Everything else is secondary.

Protein is the most underused tool in your arsenal. Most men over 50 are eating half what they need. Fix that first. Everything else gets easier.

Recovery is training. Sleep, walking, mobility work. The men who make consistent progress aren't training harder than everyone else. They're recovering better.

Consistency compounds. The most repeatable program beats the most extreme program every time. Small daily actions over months and years create results that no six-week challenge ever will.

Strength has no expiration date.

Real Results from Real People

Craig specializes in the over-50 crowd, whose bodies are more fragile and prone to injury. He's very aware of my limits and how to work through them. Craig also educated me on diet and supplements to help maximize the training and improve my overall energy and health. I've been training with Craig for around nine months now. More mobility, less pain; it's like finding the fountain of youth! Training with Craig is the best investment I ever made!

I had the privilege of working with Craig for 6 months, and the experience was truly impactful. During that time, I lost weight, gained muscle, learned a great deal about my health, and shifted my mindset around fitness and well-being.

I highly recommend Craig and Fifty Plus Fitness, especially if you haven’t been in a gym for a long time, feel unsure where to begin, or want a trainer who truly sees you as an individual rather than a program.

Craig is great. After getting back to it (I'm 56) after a long time, Craig listened to what I was saying, and created a plan that worked me back into the swing of things and got my body working again. He created a great program for me that combined active stretching and strength building in a fun (kind of, lol) and compact 1 hour session 3 times a week. After 5 weeks I am stronger, free from back pain, and have formed a sustainable and reasonable routine that gets results, and can be done quickly and efficiently. 100/100 would recommend.
